This is absolutely true...

I still have my mom's electric skillet like above only all stainless & aluminum, now almost 55+ years old and still works perfectly. I also have a small one (1/2 sized) that I had when I was in college almost 48+ years ago and I still pull it out to make pancakes every now and then. Perfect for me since I am single once again.

Your right, there was just something different about the flavor of chicken fried in one of those and chuck/pot roast with potatoes and carrots. Almost like the difference in flavor of things cooked in a well aged cast iron skillet or dutch oven.
