Many, many years ago, I was the Purchasing Agent for a tool & die shop.
One of the engineers asked me to order him an electric eraser. Staff had grown and they didn't like sharing.
(Yes, there is such a thing. This was when drawings were done with special paper, pencils and T-squares and triangles or Mayline drafting tables.)
Anyway, I drilled a hole in an ordinary desk eraser and installed an electric cord & plug. Waited a week and told him the new eraser had arrived. Came down all excited. Didn't appreciate my sense of humor!
I had actually ordered his electric eraser. Gave it to him a few hours later. Still didn't appreciate my humor. The rest of the staff thought it hilarious.
