This forum seems to be one of the best research resources I've seen so I thought I'd give it a shot here;
I spent an hour or so with my 95 year old GrandFather today.
He got to telling me about when he was in High School at a Memorial Day (or Decoration Day as he called it) ceremony he had the honor of reciting a poem. He didn't remember the author, and he could not recite the poem, but he remembered a good bit of it.
A repeated line was "If he lives to see tommorrow's sunset, he might live to see home".
I know it's a long shot but if any one can help identify the poem and author it would be appreciated.
Thanks
