I feel your pain OutAtTheEdge - I searched for a copy for years until I found one on my father shelf 😋

His reputation in some shooting circles is kind of 1 dimensional but the full story is of course very wide ranging and fascinating, and his human side is the best part of all. The man showed how to come through deep tragedies with style.

I used to go to the desert with my .22 AMT Lightning, set up a license plate on one hill, hike to another at least 100 yards away, and go at it.

Nothing more satisfying than that “bang”…..…“tink”!

Never shot at outhouses. I did set up 9 inch paper plates at 100 and 125 yards to shoot at. I was using a S&W 29-2 with a 4 inch barrel. Was at the point where I could hit six out of six every time. Then like everything else done in repetition it got boring.
