Of the many, "I'd really like to have..." 9mms I've coveted recently, the Metal somehow managed to really take hold!

The changeable back straps (insuring the best possible grip for the vast variations of hand sizes), the super aggressive front strap (guaranteeing a firm grip), the vastly improved trigger, the white 3 dot iron sights,
the lightweight T6 aluminum frame, the gray tungsten finish (which appears to be as durable as it looks), and the low bore axis (resulting in a flat shooting experience) all combine to make the Metal as functional as it is fashionable! Did I mention how accurate it is? Well, it's very accurate!!

If you're wondering about picking one up, I'd say, go for it! Yes, the price is steep!! Maybe a bit too steep? But as far as I'm concerned, it's been well worth it!

My only thought is whether or not there will soon be a Performance Center version of the Metal? Selfishly, I hope not! I'm plum out of anything else to trade!!

Is the safety lever plastic or metal? The 10mm M&P has a plastic one, and it bothers me somehow. Lots of casting flash on it when it arrived.

Yep it is purdy. I have yet to shoot it but will soon.

No safety on the Metal yet.

I am not a fan of plastic, nor striker-fired guns. I was able to handle one of these at a local shop, and it felt nice in the hand.

Does anyone know if the right hand slide lock/slide release works as it should for a left handed shooter? The M&P 2.0's does not. Wondering if it is the same design.

Yes it does. Being left handed I was happy to find this out.

Jerry M reviewed the Metal and shot a 3 round group 1.5" at 36 yds from a bench.
The new M&P M2.0 Metal - YouTube

Looked about like 1.5" maybe a fuzz more even but do you really think jerrys metal m&p was not hand picked or more likely had the barrel hand fit for a tighter lock up ?? Now what can you do?
I have a m&p core with some trigger upgrades and like jerry my home rolled loads I can manage groups in the same size .
