With Matt Ryan the golden boy in town?? Are you serious??
No - really - you can't truly believe that! The mgmt is not like Warshington or Oakland, Blank isn't a complete dipwit. NO WAY they would put the whiff of controversy into the QB position with a move like that. NO WAY NO HOW will they divide the team by bringing Vick back into the locker room.

Seriously, were you serious?

Not yet, at least.......

Vick released from federal prison: An attorney for Michael Vick says the suspended NFL star has left a Kansas prison and is on his way back to Virginia to meet the next challenges he'll face. Larry Woodward, a member of Vick's legal team, says Vick left the federal penitentiary at Leavenworth overnight. He's due to return to Virginia later this week to begin serving the final two months of his sentence under home confinement at a home he owns in Hampton. Vick had been serving a 23-month sentence for financing a dogfighting ring. The former Atlanta Falcons starting quarterback is expected to be released from federal custody July 20, and hopes to have NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reinstate him. Falcons owner Arthur Blank released a statement that Vick will not play in Atlanta. "As Michael nears the completion of his sentence, I wish the best for him and his family," Blank said. "It is my sincere hope that he has learned from his mistakes and will move forward in a productive and positive manner. The Falcons maintain Michael's contractual rights for now, but he will not be playing for us in the future. In the event NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell decides to reinstate Michael to the NFL, we feel his best opportunity to re-engage his football career would be at another club."

Already, reports are out there suggesting which teams might be interested in acquiring Vick with the Patriots, Saints, Bills and Raiders listed as potential landing spots. First, he's got to finish his sentence. Then, he needs to be reinstated by Goodell, who wants Vick to show "geniune remorse." He might still serve additional suspension time even after he's done with his sentence. Then the Falcons will likely take offers for the QB or release him. And then assuming he is still in excellent shape, he'll have to learn a new offense and accept whatever role a team gives him. Expecting him to return to form as a threatening starting quarterback in the NFL this season is way too unrealistic. If you're even thinking about drafting him, do it with a very late-round pick in the deepest of leagues this summer. He's a long way from being a legit Fantasy option.

I just hope he gets a chance to get his life back on track. He has done his time, maybe folks will let him move on?

Al Davis will hire him

That is IF he gets reinstated, which I doubt will happen. At least not this year.

IMNSHO He should never be allowed to walk onto another field.

i saw on the news he's going to be working with the humane society...what a joke. the NFL should can him for good, but if he's a moneymaker...

Yeah . . . I call it "Conditional Love!"

I was so outraged when he did those things to the dogs that I wrote a very hot letter to Blanc demanding Atlanta punt Vick immediately.

Now that he's done his time, and paid such a huge financial price, he's still got a ruined reputation to carry with him for his whole life.

Yep, he's paid dearly and I hope he'll be given a chance to PROVE he's done a full "One-Eighty." If so, maybe he can be a powerful role model to guide the next generation of thugs out of the ghetto mentality. If he fails . . . he's screwed . . . but I say, "Give Him A Chance."

WHERE HE'S GOING FIRST . . .

He'll be in Canada first . . . and only escape "purgatory" and re-enter the NFL if he redeems himself there first.

"Professional sports" in this country are a disgrace in general and filth like Vick is a problem in particular. I would however pay to see him in gladatorial combat to the death with Kobe Bryant.

I couldn't agree more++++++

He'll probably be signed by the Ravens or the Raiders. The point is WHO CARES! Not me. Sports figures these days are nothing but dollar signs. The only true "Sports Hero" in the past 20 yrs was Pat Tillman and it had nothing to do with football but what he gave up.

I don't see why everyone is so upset about Vick. People fight dogs every day. I don't think it's right, but I do think some of the people screaming about Vick never working again should channel some of their anger against other dog fighters.
