I still get updates for my Win 7 machine (but I can control when to install them), so I'm not sure what's the point of this post.
Another annoyance - I tend to loose certain default file extension associations after almost every time I get an update in Win10. No matter how many times they will try to push it, I won't use Microsoft Groove as my media player.
Eventually, MS will abandon Win 7 and 8, as they have done all their past operating systems. Software writers and hardware manufacturers will do the same. That is the point of the post. Depending on your computer usage, this may or may not be a problem. After all, there are still people using Win 95 though MS abandoned it long ago.
