Midway shipping

Is this Midway's problem, or do you have a local problem with the USPS?

Lately, more and more companies have changed to this illogical split company shipping. My local USPS has stellar service, and when they are the only one involved I get it a day early.

However, when it gets picked up by one service and then is transferred to USPS it always gets held up down south someplace.

My main shipping destination is a box at my local UPS store, which I use as my side hustle LLC's address. About half the time, the UPS to USPS deliveries never make the switch, and UPS delivers 'em. Very satisfied, and well worth the annual box fee . . .

It's Midway shippers waited a week before order was transferred to them

Midway Domestic shipping is going down the bowl, ordered on 5/2 shipped by UPS switched to USPS in Orlando, bounced up and down Florida for a week, then went silent, no movement for a week, showed up at the house on 5/17.. While I was waiting I ordered the same item on 5/14 with plans of returning the last one to show up, also upgraded shipping to USPS Priority, here we are again 10 days and shipping shows no movement. I'm done with Midway

I've had a few things get messed up at the Seminole Processing & Distribution Center in Orlando. After it leaves there and goes to the Lake Mary plant, I know it's good to go.

Are you saying Midway didn't ship it for a week, or UPS waited a week before transferrIng it to USPS?

If Midway held it for a week, then we can blame Midway.

If UPS waited for a week to give it to the USPS, then we can blame UPS.

If USPS lagged in the delivery then we can blame them.

In my many years of bizness with Midway I can't remember a problem. All these years dealing with USPS makes me believe they are stellar.

ANY issue I have ever had was with UPS. If I order something and they give me a choice of shippers, I will go with ANYBODY other than UPS, regardless of the cost.

Yep. It isn't Midway's issue. They've always shipped promptly for me. Once it gets in the "pipeline" it's anyone's guess when it'll arrive and where and how many hands it'll go through. However...don't get me started on their shipping fees....

Well, we won't know for sure until we hear from the OP . . .

Although I have not found Midway to be beneficial as concerns cost, they usually have what I may be looking for and up to this point have always been efficient at getting stuff to me. I value dealing with them. The only outlet I use as much and receive quicker shipping is Track of the Wolf for my black powder needs, the manner in which they work leads me to believe that although seeming larger than they probably are is probably a family run business with a high degree of customer satisfaction being a goal. They usually are receptive to questions asked and if there is something special you are looking for and you enter it in the box provided they usually comply. Very much impressed with their efforts to satisfy the customer's needs.

I have done business with Midway for years and always been happy. I do live close to Midway so often I just go pick up what I ordered. When I have something shipped they get it out fast but they do choose the cheapest way to ship unless it is ammo. Then it is UPS. For other stuff the tracking shows it going past my town twice before I get it. Couple of years ago some small thing I ordered got lost until Midway replaced it. Then a week later it showed up. Who knows where it went.

That's on the USPS. It's a Black Hole. I get stuff by USPS and it gets to the local distribution center and just sits..."on route to the next destination". Which is my local PO. Which is 12 miles away.

I had a similar issue with a Midway order. From Midway, it went, via USPS, to someplace in NYS, then bounced down the east coast, making frequent stops, to FL. It then sat in a local distribution location for close to five days before moving out of state to a distribution point in GA! Then back to a FL distribution point not an hours drive away. Then sat there for a couple of days before delivery. Almost three weeks before I received my order.
Thru all of this, I contacted USPS and Midway. I contacted USPS twice…. After each complaint to USPS, there was movement of my order and then final delivery.
Midway told me if I didn't receive my order in three day, they would refund my order or replace it , my call. I like Midway, order from them a lot (wife thinks I order too much from them)
USPS….. given their volume of mail, they're ok….but when they screw up, it's eye watering…….

" New Atlanta GA Regional Processing & Distribution Center Goes Live February 24, 2024"

The new plant has been plagued with issues since it opened. I imagine, since the OP lives in northern Florida his mail probably cycles through this new plant. I wouldn't blame Midway USA.

I rarely have issues with Midway or USPS shipping times. Both are prompt even when a handoff from UPS to USPS happens. Fedex . . . well that's another story.

My gripe with Midway (you knew I'd get around to it, didn't ya?) is the knuckleheads in the packing department. They just toss items in a box, add a couple of air pillows on top and tape up the box. Stuff rattles around inside and sometimes comes out of its own package. I have learned never to buy something heavy along with other items. Bullets or ammo are the worst. A couple times 22 ammo boxes broke and spilled 22's into the shipping box. Midway doesn't get it. When contacted they just say they'll replace anything damaged. Surely they get enough complaints to do something, but they don't fix the problem.

With that said. Midway's prices are decent, shipping time is ok. It's easy to shop on their site and they typically have what I want. I can't say that about other vendors. So I continue to be a Midway customer and grump about their shipping monkeys.

I think I'll go outside now to see if anybody's on my lawn. Without a "Get Off My Lawn" sign, a grouch like me has to do it verbally! ;)

Midway has been pretty timely on shipping and getting the correct stuff to me. My issue with them has been lazy packing. Small items in a large box without sufficient protection or a heavy item in too large a box flogging small delicate items.

Midway always took care of me, but it could have been avoided.

Eons ago when Midway was still a young company I did tons of business with them. They were the lowest cost around and had 100% free shipping.

Then they added shipping. But about that time I got my 03FFL and got a discount from them. Then on sale items I got no discount.

Then they raised their prices. I haven't bought from them in years.

Another current thread was about how Vista stopped distributing powder, so I thought now might be the time. (last time when they announced "pandemic" I bought that very day and a few days later everything was out of stock)

To my amazement the 2 powders I wanted were both in stock. Midway had a higher price. My other supplier had a lower price, but had free Hazmat this weekend. I placed the order only minutes ago.

Midway does not own, manage, control, or have any connection to Their chosen method of shipping other than making a choice of which one to use for a particular shipment. Don't blame Midway for something They cannot control. I have had shipments lost, late, and really really slow. Not Midways fault.

I'm going to go ahead and blame the USPS. I mailed a money order to a vendor from Warner Robins, Ga to Resaca, GA. I sent it priority and tracked. I would post the history, but it would be too long. It was mailed in late March. It arrived in early May…. After a promised duration of 3 days! The tracking shows it making a loop from Atlanta, to Dallas, Ga, to Palmetto, Ga over and over. When it showed up in Indianapolis, I went to my local PO. Luckily, I had photographed the envelopes prior to mailing, as their records said it was going to Dallas, Ga, not Resaca. They did "something " and poof, it made it to its destination after another week.

I sent a USPS package to Eagle Pass TX on Friday. It was delivered this morning. Not too bad considering Sun and Memorial Day were 2 of the days.

Give credit where due.

I'm done with Midway

I started shopping with Midway back when I had to call an 800 and speak my order to them orally. I was already a repeat customer when Larry Potterfield pioneered the NRA Round-Up program to fight for Pro-2a legislation.

To date, $23,108,379.07 has been gathered.

But yeah, keep crying and take your business elsewhere.
