Midway USA experience

Those were the days. but the reality caught up with Larry. My only beef is if you let them Back Order then that item incurs it's own shipping fees and that can be outrageous. I now open new windows in my browser and look for the same items at Natchezss, Graff's and Larry's. Occasionally Midsouth as well. It pays to compare. YMMV

Good post, and a LOT of good advice in here......I shop around too and see if I can find it....but I also have a LGS that will add up some orders from some customers and order all at one time, and we get either free or reduced shipping, or the LGS prices...
IF you need it in a hurry, then non of that will work, but if you WANT it soon, you can save money by throwing in with some other shooters, or even your LGS.....

I've ordered a lot of stuff from Midway, and I've always been pleased with their service. Their speed is amazing, and I couldn't ask for better communication. Plus, I have never had a problem with returns.

I'm not wild about the fees, but I've learned to minimize them as much as possible. There is only one other site I check first for magazines, and that is Greg Cote's site. He doesn't carry everything, so I usually end up with Midway anyway.

I've been buying from Midway for 25yrs now and have been using my C&R for the last 4 years to get the dealer discounts.. but I will agree on the back order shipping charges...one should be charged only one shipping charge on the total order...

I've been ordering from Midway for years as well, they may not have the best prices but they do have the most complete product line in one place. I also comparison shop before placing an order as well as ensuring that the order is big enough to justify the shipping.

For small orders Midway can be more expensive compared to others. However, for a regularly priced item at $21, I'd probably have ordered another $30 worth of stuff which would avoid the $3 extra charge, and then used a Midway coupon code for $10 off orders of $50. The $10 code can usually be found with a Google search or on gun forum advertisements. I've spent a good portion of my retirement at Midway with this type of strategy. :D

Midway coupon codes can be found in the 15-22 section here.

I've ordered from them for years and have never had a problem. Their packaging of items is the best. I have tried other mail order outlets and had good luck but the packaging/shipping has never been as good as Midway's.

If possible , I'll deal elsewhere. They used to tout their "Fair and honest shipping charges". Well , these days , their S&H dept people must make $50/hr. They now charge $9 for something that would fit in a $0.99 first class envelope or even more for something that would fit in a $5 priority mail box. Like the $18 S&H they charged me for a $24 set of rings. 5 sets would have fit in a $5 flat rate Priority Mail box.

My last 2 orders from Midway -

Harris Bipod and Alpha Bravo lever = UPS Ground $8.31

2 packs 500ea Rainer .45 230gr bullets, 3 packs of 50ea 5.5'' Caldwell targets, and 1,0000 .22 Tipton patches = USPS Flat Rate L $17.15

I've used Midway a lot and so far have been pleased with their service other than their shipping costs and small order policy. Their shipping cost at times seems to be out of line with other vendors, although as a rule their shipping is prompt.

Been ordering from them for years with no problems. When there is a problem they make it right great customer service.

I like Midway. I order almost exclusively form them, but don't order less than $25 of merchandise or they have extra fee's. The main reason I like Midway is they "give back". I can't remember how much it is up to now, but several million donated to the NRA. Also, the tickets for the Friends of NRA dinners have their logo on the back side because they have underwritten the cost of the tickets. (Each committee just has to print their area specific information on the front).
