Might buy this from my uncle

Back to the Model 15.

It appears to have department markings under the cylinder on the frame, which depending on your preference either enhances or detracts from the value (very helpful that, I know :)). For me it would enhance the value, and I'd pay $400 for that gun any day if everything else is in good order.

Yes it does! I like that part of it as well.

That's a Model 15 (K-38 Combat Masterpiece, chambered for the .38 Special cartridge). I don't know what revision it is (possible a 15-5) and the photos aren't good enough to determine a value.

A rough wild guess on value would be somewhere around $400, but a Favored nephew might get it for less!;)

Haha welcome to California. Appears to be a model 15 so an easy $600 gun here where off roster guns are coveted.

Most revolvers are higher priced here with at least a $200 premium over those found in a free state.

The last deal for me was a model 14 at $450 which I could easily sell for $550-$600 now.

Agreed it's a $600 or more gun here in the PRK depending on which LGS and the seller, hope you get it with the family discount!

Tomorrow when I'm in town for work I'm going to check it out. I asked him about the orange and he said it was the light, which I figured. He said it's in very good condition and the cop that had it took good care of it. My uncle has only fired 500 rounds through it. It's been sitting in his safe now since. Also, no rust or corrosion anywhere on it. Im going to check out the cylinder and make sure it still locks up nice and tight.

And also said it's a Model 15.3 4" just like how you guys said!

He also is going to throw in 2 moonclips, a holster, and 500 rounds of ammo all for $400.

Welcome to the FORUM! If the gun checks out OK, then the $400 w/extras is a good deal for you. (not sure what the moon clips are for) Let us know how you make out. Post some good updated pictures. Bob
