Might want to check out "Pig Bomb" airing now on Discovery

When you said "pig bomb" I thought somebody was thinking ill thoughts of certain female democrats.

I saw a show a while back on the history channel about seige warfare. One of the weapons they used to gain access to a walled castle was a "pig bomb". They would tunnel under the wall and place a large pig with all the opening sewed up tight. Over several weeks in would bloat up. The skin was tuff enough to hold together for quite a while. It would eventually blow up and take down the wall.

It must have had quite an order after a few weeks. They used some pretty inventive things put this one really stuck in my mind.

What did the pig think about all of this

I would think the guy who held down the pig was the one to be really afraid of

I thought "pig bomb" was going to be a new weapon to use against those moslem bastards...

Although pretty well over the top with the projections at the end about pigs sort of topping out the evolutionary food chain (15 feet tall at the shoulder - yeah, right!), it was pretty entertaining.

From the perspective of someone who grew up on a farm, though, people really don't understand just how dangerous a hog can be. You get anything that weighs 400 plus pounds (and "domesticated" hogs will easily go over 600 to 700 pounds) hitting you at 30 mph, and you've got a major problem. Add in razor sharp tusks perfectly positioned to rip out a femoral artery, hamstring or gut a human. And then - they will eat you.

Oh, and I forgot - contrary to every stereotype - pigs are as quick as cats. No kidding. The only things I have seen that were as quick in a fight as hogs, were cats.

Also, the only real difference between a "feral hog" and a "domesticated hog" is that one isn't in the pen anymore.

I heard somewhere that it only takes two weeks in the wild for a domestic pig to start growing hair and tusks again.

203gr 7.62x54r out of my Romanian m44 did a nice job for me last spring.

Funny this came up - just last week 3 large (3ft X 3ft.) hogs showed up in my front yard. Went out to check why dogs were going nuts and found myself under gunned (M6 22cal X 410). I have never seen one in the previous 30yrs I lived in the Sierra foothills. Neighbor and I are now plotting a hunt.
