While doing some paperwork on my PC this afternoon this commemorative button (for a test launch out at Vandenberg AFB) oddly fell down from where it's been residing for years bouncing off the TV stand.

It got me thinking about where the few SAC uniform patches were that I kept after leaving the Air Force, & my last job working on Titan II ICBMs (Little Rock AFB), & found a few of the patches we were authorized to wear that I still have.

The last one is for the Telecommunications field I cross-trained from.

Now if I could just find where the pocket rocket patches are hiding. :p

.

Show us your military patches that you still have. :)

Always regret not snagging a patch from our ADM platoon. Subtle, with a nucleus and mushroom cloud as I recall. A smart and jovial if somewhat nervous group that did not talk about their work. I have never, ever doubted the existence of suitcase nukes.

Not as illustrious as some shared here, but these are the units I was proud to serve with.

I've got lots of patches I picked up here and there during my time in, but they're all stuffed together in a cigar box somewhere. These are what I wore on my flight suit (left side of the box). The Desert Shield and Desert Storm patches weren't official.

More than 50 years since I left active Army duty. Very little remaining in the form of memorabilia. My two combat unit patches were the 101st Airborne Division and the 1st Aviation Brigade (one tour each). Stateside units included 3rd Army, 6th Army, 4th Infantry Division, and the Infantry School.

Service awards include Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star "V", Purple Heart (3 oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal "V", Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Republic of Vietnam Parachutist Badge, and Presidential Unit Citation.

Reading the citations provides proof that the US Army had some fine creative writing talent back in the day, probably young lieutenants in a staff office somewhere cranking out paperwork by volume daily, maybe with a quota to meet. Nearly everything was delivered to my "home of record" by mail months after I left Vietnam, and the citations painted very pretty pictures that I just don't remember quite the same way. I wasn't even old enough to vote, much less high enough in rank to argue with the Big Green Machine.

I see where the OP worked on Titans . I worked on Cape Canaveral AFS on the Titan 34D and Titan IV , the USAF heavy lift vehicle . The USAF always came up with a patch for launches , I'll dig them out and post some . My Marine days were with VMAQ2 , an electronic warfare squadron . No patch from those days , but I'll look online to see if I can find a picture of one . Or maybe AJ can help , he did time there also .

Not sure why I never kept a Big Red One patch from Fort Riley. Last duty station so not sure what I did there.

The small one is from the 24th Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA.

The other is from the 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea.

The two AF patches are from my brief stint in the Air Guard, 190th Refueling Wing.

I had forgotten all about the Driver's Badges.

Back when I was a kid, the local Army surplus store had boxes and baskets full of a variety of unit shoulder patches from WWII for like a nickel each. I bought a few, but not many, and they are presently God knows where. I remember one of them was CBI, very pretty.
