Any ideas why all the Army vehicles had brand new looking OD green paint jobs?
Seems odd since I would hazard a guess that at least 40% of the Army’s vehicles have desert paint of some sort. The desert camo and solid colors look better anyway. And who would care if the desert paint jobs were a little dirty and in need of a little touch-up.

It appeared that most of the parade was aimed at nostalgia. The solid OD was common before we entered the sandbox.

I stayed irritated through most of the parade as unit after unit passed in review out of step, slouching, etc. From the look on Pete Hegseth's face, I think he'd agree with me.
You ain't kidding. What little I could see of it was like "WT_????"
We Marines swear by (and at) close order drill....a lot of former Army NCO's I know saw it and were of the same mindset.

All branches need to return to the basics.

Maybe we could get 8th&I to give classes to the rest of the branches?

My guess, is the brass and top politico's did not want this looking like a Soviet may Day parade thru Red square.

Route step was the preferred method.

Not past the review stand. Route march is an insult to the SecDef on a 250 Anniv parade, IMO.

Could've snapped-to just before the review stand & then back to route just past it. Easy peasy. Problem is, no one does parades anymore so the small things aren't cleaned up.

If you noticed, no one was stepping off at 30". They were all marching at a much shorter stride.

My guess is they started repainting vehicles the minute they got the word of the parade. When I served it just wasn’t that big of a deal to repaint a tactical vehicle.

I knew a lot of us had noticed the rag bag look of the marching. Pete winced while the CCP laughed. I was yelling at the TV...Get In Step, the world is watching. I don't want the goose step, but come on.

I enjoyed the parade but was disappointed with the route step business. They could have at least called cadence in the area near the cameras and reviewing stand.

Thought it was nice there were “ troops” dressed in WWi and WWII uniforms with correct gear and weapons. Sherman M-4s were very nice. Shermans most likely belonged to a guy near DC that has a large collection of WWII armor.
