in the last Milt thread, encountered the SS sergeant major in the loft of a barn.
He does encounter one more SS guy before he leaves Germany and goes back to Texas.
Milt is the commander of a small ammo depot. He has some GIs some German civilians and some German POWs working there.
They are picking up ammunition and other ordnance. And sometimes they are blowing it up. They are also inspecting, repackaging and storing it.
This is a small little base, all the administrative, living quarters and mess hall are in one building.
One day Milt is sitting in his office, here come some British MPs.
They ask about this German POW. Milt says yes, there is a POW here with that name.
About this time there is noise coming from at the rear of the building.
British MPs lead that German POW, now handcuffed, into Milt's office.
The British MPs explain that this individual it is actually a wanted SS member.
He like thousands of others have taken the identity of regular German military members.
And this guy must've been a pretty good job, because he had been convincing to The folks at the POW camp.
Before the British took him away, he asked Milt for a favor. He asked to Milt to take his dog.
The dog was a SS trained military dog.
Milt spoke pretty good German, but he didn't know exactly the extent and level of all the dog's commands.
Shortly after that Milt departs Germany and takes that dog To Austin.
I predict the dog will show up in an Austin thread.
He named the dog Bobby. I always told him what made the dog so mean and difficult to get along with is your named him Bobby.
You can't name a SS dog Bobby and expect good results.
Almost forgot - the Brits hung the SS guy.
