If I lived in an area where open carry was forbidden I would say something discretely. If your fly is down, or you have spinach in your teeth; do you want to be told quietly, or have it on display for the world to see? Those of us who carry can often spot a fellow CCW while those who do not often don't. But a total reveal without the owner's knowledge is a concern. then again some people don't care. Bottom line I guess it depends on whether the individual looks like a friendly.
To me, concealed carry means just that...concealed !
I do not advertise the fact I carry to anybody.
As far as saying something to the person who shows the weapon { either on purpose or by accident } ....Silence is Golden in this case.

Better to avoid interactions with strangers, as you will never know how it can go off track.
Last winter, I harmlessly wanted to take a photo of someone's dog wearing a Santa hat, as I'm a dog lover, as are my friends. They would have enjoyed seeing the photo.
The dog's owner thought I wanted to take a photo of his teenage daughters.
No way to talk yourself out of that totally unexpected twisted, though perhaps 21st century thinking. I was at a little distance. Approaching him to explain my intention would have really put him on the defensive, so I just walked away.
If a guy is really sloppy and careless with his cc, maybe it is better if some authority talks with him.

To begin, I never see anyone open carrying. Legal? Sure. Are people doing it? Maybe, but not in this town as far as I can tell.
And I never see guns peeping out accidentally or printing and I keep my eyes open, my situational awareness is pretty high.
So, a little disagreement here. IF I see a gun printing or accidentally showing I feel somewhat protective of a fellow gun carrier (it MIGHT be my business to protect this like-minded individual) so, if the person looks like a normal American citizen, and the circumstances allow it I think I MIGHT say something. It's better for me to do that discretely than for some anti-gunner freaking out on this person.
But this is "might" and "normal American citizen" and "circumstances allow".
I just don't 100% agree with a "nunya" attitude in this kind of situation in 21st-century America. But I don't disagree completely either, as noted.

In today's anti-2nd Amendment rights climate I believe it's more prudent to keep your CCW your "secret". You've lost an edge when it's revealed, plus coming from a locality that's one of the most anti-gun in the country, I can say that most municipalities treat CCW as a Privilege Not a Right. You don't want your CCW right challenged or face an unnecessary display charge or be harassed if you're just a legal CCW citizen and not a
LEO. But printing or displaying you've lost the element of surprise if circumstances dictate the need to draw yor weapon.

Even then I would mention it as politely as I could one time and that would be it.
"Pardon me sir, I know this is none of my business but open carry is illegal in this jurisdiction and they will prosecute. I thought maybe I'd let you know that your firearm is showing." And no matter what he said that would be the end of the conversation and I would move away.

I had a similar incident in a restaurant. A fellow at the table next to us was carrying in the small of his back, but as he sat down his shirt rode up and exposed the pistol. Now I agree, printing is one thing - but between how the butt was sticking out and how the chair was designed it was obvious anyone could have walked behind this fellow and literally pulled out his pistol or if he stood up the back of the chair would have been hooked by the butt as it stuck out.
Now I know it may be seen as rude for one guy to approach another and reprove him on how he is carrying and I certainly didn't want to cause a scene, so I let discretion be the better part of valor - and asked my wife to tell him! She was definitely a little less threatening when she leaned over and whispered into his ear. And while he did pull his shirt down, he was a gentleman enough to blush!
Of course, he never got a glimpse of the Rossi 720 .44 Special she carries, either...
I keep mine covered and if mine is exposed to where it looks like I was trying to cover it and the shirt or vest hung on it, I would want someone to discreetly tell me. I have told many folks. Usually I quietly tell them their weapon is showing and just about every time, they have pulled their shirt down and said thanks.
I do however practice profiling. If they look like someone who would care and who likely would appreciate it, I do so. If they looked like a hoodlum that didn't care, I would move on. Don't ask me to say how I make that determination, just gut instinct I guess.

I have mentioned it once to a guy, who seemed unaware.
We have had open carry for years, even before CCW was passed, but I dont practice it, for obvious reasons.
That said, its not uncommon to see someone's firearm, here in Kansas, and I dont think most people pay much mind to it.
Myself, I wear long sleeved tee shirts and a Carhartt vest all winter, so I can carry most anything and not really show. Sunday is a long sleeved western shirt, and a vest in Church. People get used to seeing me that way, and pay me no attention.
Summer time, is a lot harder, to cover my Glock 43X, which is my normal carry. I do a pretty good job, of keeping it covered, as my outside belt holster carries it really high. If I dont have an un-tucked shirt on, then I carry a Ruger LCR in 38 special in my pocket.

Nacho business sounds good, but might I hazard a guess here? Maybe he is showing on purpose to show off or try to be impressive?
Nice piece you got there, how do you like it? Boy, mags sure hard to find.
Indiana is an open carry state so open or barely concealed is a non event. I've seen people whose supposed concealment was just almost open but confronting anyone you don't know about anything short of committing murder is not advisable in my opinion so I ignore it and move on.
My cover garment (a shoot-me-first vest) has ridden up a couple of times.
The first time, a few years back, having driven my better half from Kansas where we visited her mother, I was on the last legs of the drive home, and decided to stop at the store for something quick and easy to fix. I went into the grocery store to get some pizza rolls and while I was looking for them, a man and his wife passed me. He asked me if it was a 357. I said yes, that it was a S&W 681. My thought was that the muzzle was showing under the hem of my vest, and thought nothing of it for a few seconds. After reaching back to see how far I needed to pull my pants up, I found that the vest had ridden up and the entire gun was visible. I covered the revolver, got the pizza rolls and was paying for them when the local sheriff walked in to get something. As far as I know, he never knew of my visible handgun.
Recently, I went to the WallyWorld in Enid, and I was getting my electric shopping cart this nice Black gentleman and his lady who apparently followed me in but got ahead of me, started looking back and smiling at me. I mean could see his glittering gold teeth flashing. "Hey man, how ya doin?" he said as he and his lady waved. I waved back and returned the greeting.
Suddenly, I felt very self-conscious and checked to be certain that my S&W wasn't showing. It was so I covered it up and rode the cart around the store putting various items (waffles, canned chicken breast, green enchilada sauce, Fresca, Diet Pepsi, regular coke, etc., into the cart, and then paying for them, left the store.

Can't remember seeing many bad guys with holsters IWB or other. More likely to see them trying to hold up the saggy jeans. I'd say nothing either way. Another thread running now re summer attire for concealment of weapons, doable with a little effort.
