I never saw the ad but when I was a kid in the early seventies there was a company that made replica toy firearms called Son-of-a-Gun. I remember I had their Luger, their Kentucky rifle and their 1911.
I don't remember what the scale was but the Kentucky rifle was maybe 4 inches long. And the pistols were maybe an inch and a half. I wish I had kept them, they would probsbly be worth something today.
I have the Goat Gun 1911, got it as a gift a few years ago. It's a neat mini of a 1911, comes with a display stand. Mine is in the bookcase in the living room. One of these days I'm going to get the Thompson they make.
I also remember the "Son of a Gun" mini guns. I had a couple as a kid in the 1980's, got them at the Green Dragon Farmers Market. They were cool, a bunch of the guys in my class had them.
I just checked out their site, and they are pretty cool. Hard for me to believe that they can make them, considering the tiny details and moving parts, and make a profit for what they are charging. Here is a link to their site, check 'em out.
