I'm missing the front sight pin (Patridge) on my blued 6" bbl. Model 27-2 (ca. 1977). Must have shaken out some time ago. Where is the best place to buy a replacement pin (Midway/Brownell's/Numrich)? Any tricks to replacing the pin? Thanks.

Your front sight pin was originally polished flush with the side of the ramp base before bluing. You'll want a longer pin with radiused ends and a punch with a concave tip. I'd phone S&W, they might just send a pin.

Thanks for the suggestion, s&wchad...I called S&W Customer Service, and he's sending me a couple of front sight pins in the mail- gratis!
