missouri proposes gun ban

Personally I don't think this bill will pass either but it won't hurt to contact your reps and let them know you don't want this draconian law even considered. My rep's already contacted through a survey she sent me but now she gets a letter.

Missourians tell you friends we need to nip this in the bud.

GR8scout is a troll...look at some of his posts.
Then why do you keep engaging him in multiple threads?

Trolls should not be fed.
They should be reported.

Engaging one is similar to the spotlight the media puts on the psycho killers that cause our problems.
Leave them alone and they starve from lack of attention.

Always use the

found on every post to report what you need to.

We can't be complacent. Here in Washington State a similar proposal was submitted. WA SB 5737 is here: SB 5737 - 2011-12. Look at the original bill and the substitute bill.

The original basically eliminates any magazine fed firearm including shotguns and pump actions as they are capable of accepting magazine of over 10 rounds. Existing magazine fed firearms are allowed by travel to sporting events and ranges; hunting - illegal. In order to able to keep these firearms, it allows the sheriff to yearly inspect the way your firearm is stored. A clear violation of the fourth amendment. The substitute bill requires each firearm to be registered.

The difference between MO and WA is that WA is a blue state. It is very capable of passing.

If you think it won't happen to your state, think again. The timing of both bills seems more than coincidence. The body of the language is similar. I suspect the sponsors of these bills know what it is doing to the market; panic buying = clearing inventories = end result: increased prices + force smaller LGS's out of business (priority deliveries to big outfits and higher price stock = lower purchasing power.)

I wrote my legislators today and basically told them to stop being a 'couch psychologist' and show me hard #(ie. x crimes prevented for every x firearm registered) from a peer reviewed study citing references else the school where they got their PhD in the mental health field.

While I agree it will never pass I would still write my official's. The best way to keep politicians honest is to let them know your watching. When they know your watching and will vote accordingly there much more careful about how they handle things.

Stay diligent and remember people who are pro HD545 can write in and express there view's just as easily as you can.

I've lived in missouri all my life, i know these bills will probably go no where but the less resistance our employees get in the house and senate the more times we will have to deal with these common sense(what a Joke) bills Dear Leader is calling for them to introduce. If we contact our employees at least they know we are keeping a eye on them.

Please accept my apology.

My earlier comments were not intended to offend anyone from any state, rather they were made to try to unite the effort at hand which is fighting to protect the future of firearm ownership in the USA. To those who took offense, please accept my apology.

Just wanted to post this from Brian Nieves Facebook page. He is the state senator from Franklin, Warren and part of St. Louis County.

""To all my 2nd Amendment supporting friends, Let me make this Perfectly Abundantly Clear... The Dems in BOTH the Missouri House & Senate have, and will likely continue, to file Anti-Gun Legislation. Here's the Good News - I am the chairman of the committee in the senate to which ALL gun bills are sent!! ALL Gun Bills, good or bad, must go through me!! I assure you, I promise you, all these Anti- Gun Bills are dead, as in D E A D - Dead!! ALL - ALL - ALL the Anti Gun Bills are DEAD!!""

THIS is how the majority of this state thinks.

"Smug"?
I've lived in this state for 28 years, I think I have a pretty good handle on its political climate. You won't catch me making uninformed statements about North Carolina, since I know nothing about it.
As I stated, this bill will never pass.
.

Well then one might also conclude a politician holding those views would stand no chance of being elected in your Great State, but somehow they managed to be elected.

THIS is how the majority of this state thinks.

General assembly now 52 dems, 109 reps. 2 vacancies in the house. Senate has 10 dems and 24 reps. Half the senators are from the three metro areas. This would seem to indicate that the above is true when you talk districts.

Remember, however, that our U.S. Senators are split and the governor is a dem.

We also seem to have trouble with referendums and initiative ballot measures.

Majority in Missouri may bought with dollars and other good and valuable considerations.
