I was about to clean my new-to-me Mod.19-2 snubbie after firing about 25 rounds of full house .357 at the range. The cylinder wouldn't open. The cylinder would rotate when I cocked the hammer. I checked each chamber with a rod to ensure that it wasn't loaded and dry fired it single and double action- still no joy. I removed the side plate and everything looked normal and worked as it should. The cylinder would not open.

I started to look around for a box to send it home for repair then I thought about this site. Before I got to the computer, I remembered Jerry Kuhnhausen- sure enough the condition was listed in his book. I fixed it with half of a business card and a sharpened stick; just as he recommended.

The ejector rod had unscrewed and would not allow the cylinder to open.

The business card held the cylinder stop down and the sharpened stick jammed the end of the ejector rod and I turned the cylinder to re-tighten the ejector rod in the cylinder.

Kindest regards,

Bill
