Have a Model 27-2 with significant extractor rod run-out. I have replaced the extractor rod and center pin with new parts. Both of these parts are straight. I have determined that the shaft of the extractor star has a slight bow. This can be seen by rolling the shaft on a flat surface. Is their a method to straighten the shaft of the extractor star?

It is hard to tell you how to do it, take it to a local smith and let him look at it or go to a gander mountain smith and he can replace it.

Assemble the entire assembly together less the cylinder. Make sure it's tightened up like it would be on the gun. Place it in a lathe or drill press arbor and then go about tapping it straight.

I had to do this on several as the threads on the extractor get bent real easily throwing off the entire ejector rod.

If you decide you need a new M27 extractor (recessed heads only), we have them in stock. Blue steel, price $32.00 delivered. Thanks, Judge [email protected] (no PM please)
