Bought a new machine-engraved Mod. 29-10 a couple of weeks ago and it's got a "sticky" trigger - shooting in either DA or SA, trigger tends to stick half-way back while resetting, especially if releasing it slowly.

Should I dry-fire it for a while and see how things go?

Any help or suggestion?

Thanks

Welcome to the form, I would try popping the side plate off and cleaning it up, then using a high quality oil(I use CLP ) I think that will take care of it. Repeat this after the first couple of boxes and you should be good to go. If you don't want to mess with the side plate just try getting some oil into the action through the openings for the hammer, trigger and bolt. Let us know how it works and Congrats on your new gun

Thanks for your reply CWH44300.

I've already removed the side-plate and lubricated the pivots, hand etc.
Looks like it's easing off but not there yet.

I'm dry-firing it once in a while. I'll keep ya notified.

Cool, just make sure you use good snap caps, I wouldn't dry fire without them
