What condition is it in? LNIB, yes it's worth it. Things go down from there.

What model number is it? "Pinned barrel" is nice but only means it's a -2 or older.

Sounds about right with todays gun prices, 29's are holding their value as with any N frames, the pres. box adds about 50-75 bucks to the value and is a plus, I picked one up a year ago for 750 could be nib, not that I need another 44, but I can't help myself when I see mint N frames in those beautiful wood boxes! In a year that price will seem like a bargin!

$700.00 would be nice but I would go the asking price. Picked up a unfired in the presentation case M-57-1 last fall for $700.00 but knowing me I would have paid the C-note extra. You can argue price but never condition!

I will add that if it's a true 6" gun, they aren't as desirable as the older 6.5" guns to a lot of guys. Personally, I prefer them at 6" both for looks and balance. They only made them in that length from '79- '82, so they are far less common, which makes them a nice addition to any collection.:)
