Click to expand... Not necessarily. The .38 RP started getting a model number in 1958 and the J frame variant didn't appear until 1961. Moreover, if it is marked simply MOD 33, it would be an I frame. When the RP was converted to the J frame, it got the Model 33-1 designation. Last edited: May 26, 2023
