I see a mod 33 for sale, no search results come up here?
Is it a J frame? 38 S&W

If model # stamped, it would be a J Frame. It's a 32 Regulation Police, 38 S&W caliber (not 38 Special)

Not necessarily. The .38 RP started getting a model number in 1958 and the J frame variant didn't appear until 1961.

Moreover, if it is marked simply MOD 33, it would be an I frame. When the RP was converted to the J frame, it got the Model 33-1 designation.
