I absolutely love this gun. It carries like a snubby yet shoots like a 4" model 10. Can anyone give me an idea of date of manufacture?

My refrerence shows 1983 for 1J18601 - xxxx. Not sure exactly what this means. I don't see anything two a J following two numbers, so ???

That would likely be 1971 . . . the first year of the "floating J" plus 5 numerical digits.
