Quick question for those in the know. Is the "A" prefix Mod. 41 known to be "better" than newer 41s? Is there any known issues with the "A" prefix 41?

I'm looking to get one and would like to know what I'm getting into.

Everyone says "older is better"...want to know if that is the general consensus in this case.

Btw, I tried the search function and it came back with nothing.

Thanks!

For some reason the earlier ones with the cocking indicator and the "A" prefix are thought to be better. I have no experience with the later ones but my early "A" prefix was a beautifully done gun. No issues.

This question has been asked many times. There have been "some" complaints of issues with the newer Holton produced pistols. I own a few Model 41's that date from early to mid 90's production. In my experience they all shot just as good. The fit and finish is definitely better on the earlier produced guns. I recently purchased a new 7" barrel and it is just as good a shooter as any that I have although the finish is a matte, rather unattractive blue finish.

Thanks guys. I am keeping my eyes open for a clean shooter grade "A" series. The one I was looking at was probably the one I should have picked up...but I decided to let it go and research some more on this model.
