MOd 41 mag with sideways "&" marking.

I just bought a mod 41 (97') and all of my mags seem to have a tilted "&" on the floor plate. Is this common? What's it's significance??
I've never seen this marking anywhere else on a S&W product as i recall.

They call it the lazy ampersand - no real significance

Thanks Ken. I have to wonder why the use it here and nowhere else (that i've seen anyway.)

There is no "S" and "W"? Mine says S&W (with a sideways "&").
