mod 642 pro

I have a nice mod 60 pinned sw, now I am wanting a mod 642 pro airweight, what are the advantages and disadvantages? I am wanting it to carry.

The 642 pro series has the alloy frame, and weighs 14.4 oz. No exposed hammer or hammer spur, DA only, barrel and cylinder are constructed of stainless steel. It is rated for continuous +P use. I own the 442-1 pro version of this J series revolver and carry it regularly. Light weight, recoil is manageable even for this old curmudgeon.

You will have a good carry set up. 642 for pocket carry and 60 for waist band carry. I carry the 36 and 442 that way. I proved the past couple of days I can carry a 442 in Suit Pants Pocket in a cheep Uncle Mike's Pocket Holster and knowone had a clue. I was around at least 300 people. A lot of them were huggy family.

Great post! haywood knows his Js and how to carry them. I don't use the UM/Blackhawk pocket holsters because they're inexpensive. I use them because they work. My recent abdominal surgeries (too many ) have compelled me to give up IWB for the present and use pocket carry. haywood is correct: nobody sees "nuthin," and I'm talking every day. There are many reasons why the 442 turned so many LEO and CCW heads when introduced in the mid 90s. Unobtrusive carry is one.

Also, the moon clips make for much better positive ejection of spent casings in one fell swoop, otherwise a tricky affair with the short ejector rod.

You can reload it in any manner you wish, ie Speed Strips, Speedloader, loose rounds, another moon clip etc.
