A what? Don't recall S&W ever using a dash 0 designation . . .

My 627 has a 627-0 designation....

Hmmm. Well, my excuse is that I pay no attention whatsoever to S&W revolvers made after 1982. A BEF serial number comes from sometime in the late 1980s.

My story and I'm stickin' to it! :)

But, seriously, thanks for this info and the photo. You learn something new every day. I truly did not know S&W had adopted this practice later.

Maybe not for a model 66, but I have a 627-0 which is a legitimate model

At any rate, that price is great for a 66, especially for cabellas.

Yes. See the two posts just previous to yours.

And you are right. During the era of the Model 66 under consideration here, there would have been no dash zero. But I'm glad I made that original joking comment. As a result I now know that later on S&W did use a dash zero designation.

Rough as in duty wear on cylinder. stocks a bit rough...

sights looked reasonably good.

I am flat broke and if I can get to Cabellas and its' still there I very well might. A 4 inch 66 no dash/-0 was the first handgun that I ever bought. Funny how the older you get the more you miss the ones you let go.
