Iby, the comments above are spot on. The mainspring is a replacement and not correct. The trigger should be proud of the spur. The trigger may be a replacement from a #2 Old Army as the trigger sear appears too long. The hand pivot pin may be broken as the hand appears to be canted to the side of the hammer. It should be parallel to the hammer.
To answer your question, YES you can fix it yourself, but you'll need a few parts. DO NOT touch anything with a file!
