I just picked up my model 10-10 that I ordered from buds. I find the gun to be in exactly the condition they advertise, I am very happy with it. Action is very smooth.

I have heard these guns came from Australia?

Would someone help identifying the mfg date, SN is BKZ5281, I tried calling S&W but they are closed for the holidays until after January 1st.

This serial number isn't in the book, but very close numbers were from February of 1992.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the information, always good to know the DOB.

Cuca, I got a 10-8, from them a few months ago. As described. I cleaned it up, and some blue touch up. Worked good. ( I used special procedures) Did you leave your VPA sticker on? I did. These were used for tracking purposes. Mine now has laser grips on it.
I have never gotten anything from Bud's that I wasn't happy with!
Enjoy your 10! Bob

Tell me about this VPA sticker, what is it? Removing it was one of the first things I did. Was this a mistake? I still have it.

I have thought about re-bluing it has a little wear at the barrel tip but most wear is at the trigger guard and back of handle.

I have never worked with bluing, what did you use? Is it easy to use? You touched your up, it matches the existing blue?

If I decided to re-blue the entire gun would it be as good as a factory job? I guess I need to read up on the process.

Cuca, I communicated with an Australian member on the forum when I got mine. I believe that it was him that stated that the sticker can be read(I don't know how) it tracked where the gun was, work done etc. If you want PM me with your email address, and I will send you the site explaining blue touch up etc. Bob
