I saw this for sale locally and knew I had to have it. I found it odd that a Model 10 was so appealing to me because I'd never paid them any attention. To me, they were nothing special.
But the 3" barrel fascinated me (I guess simply because it's less common), and square butt guns point very naturally for me. Top it all off with a serrated trigger and a box of ammo and I was convinced that this was one gun I could not pass on.
From what I read in the 3" K frame thread, the 3" Model 10s were usually shipped overseas for military or law enforcement use. That's all I really know; if anyone else has more information they could share I'd appreciate it.
It's a 10-5, D7Q5XXX. S&W dates it to 1974.
