I just found a Model 10-5 with the 5" pencil barrel and Magna grips.

It's in great shape, 95% finish with no holster wear, minimal turn ring and no scracthes or dings anywhere. Must have been kept in a box or case. There is no box or tools with the gun.

There is only a slight fading of the bluing on the extractor rod. No wear on the bluing around the cylinder latch or breech face either

The thing is suprisingly clean and I have always thought the 5" tapered barrel looked neat.

The price is a non-negotiable $349.

What say you? Fair price or not?

If it's clean and mechanicaly tight I would jump on it because the 5 inch are much harder to find the the 6 inch barrel and that's a good price in the condition you state.

I'd buy it at that price; but I'm a sucker for 5" and 3" 10s...and that looks like a nice one.

Photo isn't too good, but based on your description, I'd be all over that one!

I think that $300-$400 is the usual range for nice condition Model 10's, and a five-incher is a prize. :)

Post better pics after you get it. I think you'll like it.

See if you can learn what that canvas holster in the display case is for. Looks like it fits some military 9mm. Don't think it's UK-issued.

I hope no one bought that M-10 out from under you. I think it's a fine value in a very useful sidearm.

I'm generally of the opinion that if I want a gun, and it is sound mechanically, then I don't worry about overpaying within reason. The cost of a quality gun is small potatoes compared to the ammo run through it over several years. I don't sweat the few guns I have overpaid for, but I still kick myself about the nice ones I didn't buy because the price seemed a bit high.

That said, $350 for a nice 5" model 10 seems like a bargain to me.
