Congrats on the 10-6.
I have 2 10-5s & LOVE 'em.
They're a heck of a lot more accurate than me

Thanks Yurko I havent had a chance to shoot it yet. Wont get 2 until this weekend maybe. Money is tight.I do however like the feel of it. This is my 3rd revolver, 2nd S&W

Not long after the pics i oiled it down and man that helps alot. there is no telling how long it sat on the shelf.

very nice

I like the stocks. I have Targets on my 10-6 and they're a little big for my hand

Thanks IMAKMSt. They are the original stocks for this gun. The S/N is stamped on them. I am going to get some Hogues and put these in the safe.

I have a 10-6 like yours and a 10-5 snubbie (see the pic?). They both have very easy DA triggers and a very crisp SA pull. They are a joy to shoot.

You can oil the outside of it, but I wax my blue steel firearms.
The vast majority of the posters here recommend Reniassance Wax for protecting the finish against rust, fingerprints, etc....I have never used it, but I am certain it is the finest product for the job.
I use Johnson's Paste Wax...from Autozone.
Apply it just like you do on a car, put some on the pad, rub it in a circular motion, let it dry to a haze, and buff....

Thanks again Sheriff. I have learned a ton about revolvers from you. I never knew about waxing it but will give it a try. There is only i spot i have found on the gun. It is on the sideplate looks like a scratch but it is down to the metal.

thanks, and for everyone's benefit we know each other from another forum, but when it comes to Smith and Wesson revolvers, the knowledge here is almost overwhelming....
Lots of good information here...and FWIW, this is the finest firearms forum on the net....

I like the forum alot also. I am just getting in to revolvers and found alot of info on here as well. Everyone i have dealt with is nice and always willing to help a "newbie" out and for that Thanks everyone.
