I picked up a model 10-6. As I started to disassemble it I found that the sideplate screw that also holds in the cylinder <STRIKE>stop</STRIKE> yoke was just a "regular" round head screw. I thought it's supposed to have a spring loaded plunger attached to it. Am I wrong? I'm thinking somebody lost the original screw or mistakenly replaced it with the wrong kind.

wheel,

I am not certain which change involved the yoke screw. However, you can tell by looking at the button of the yoke which screw it is suppose to have.
If the inside of the button is straight, then it should have a regular yoke screw. If the inside is milled with an angle, then it should have the new style yoke screw with the spring loaded plunger.
If your gun was suppose to have the new style yoke screw, the old style would not work, as it would cause the yoke to bind up, just due to the design of the new style button of the yoke.

Hope this helps,
chris

The M10-6 engineering change would have the older style screw. The spring loaded design wasn't implemented until the 90's IIRC.
