Model 10-7 value help

A friend of mine who is a retired Trooper has a 10-7 that he will sell me. He bought it through his agency as warehouse surplus. It looks to be unfired in box with papers, 95-100%. SN prefix is AEWxxxx and has C&E xxxx on the backstrap, as well as a lanyard ring. What would be a good value, and does anyone know what the C&E means

With some digging, it looks like a RHKP Model 10. Any help with a value would be much appreciated, I honestly don't think this one has been fired.

Dave, Buds is selling Model 10-5s for $279 shipped. They are mechanically fine, but have wear and fine rust on the outside. If this is as nice as you say it would go up to $400. I believe they are around $700 new.

Thanks Jay. I've been eyeing those ay Buds, and may get one for my truck gun and one for my son as a starter handgun. Right now my DIL is using my old Marlin 120 12 ga for HD while he is at work. 400-500 was what I was running around in my head for this -7 in this condition. He told me that they were 700 or so new, and to investigate a reasonable value for an offer.

I don't think you will be sorry to pay $400-500. It is a great gun. Maybe since the deal is between you and another guy you can get it without paying a 'crazy' price because of the stupid crazy market. I sold my gently used 10-7 before TSHTF for $300. I'd easily pay $400+ for one like you describe. If I were in the market for one right now, it would be easy to get closer to $500 and not feel like I got took.

That's kind of how I feel. We are looking for a mutually agreeable figure that makes both of is happy.

C & E is (the former) Royal Hong Kong Customs & Excise agency, the tax authorities when HK was still a British colony. A figure around $400-450 sounds about right to me.

There is a lot of difference between 95% and 100%. I would certainly go $400 if it was 100% especially with matching box and papers. I doubt I would go $400 if it graded 95%. I doubt I would go over $400 unless it had a 2" or 3" barrel, not for a 4" barrel.
