What kind of grips would be factory original on a Model 10 Airweight .38 Special? It's a flat latch, 4 screw model, 2 inch barrel, s/n C406xxx. It currently has diamond magnas that don't number to the gun. I'm wondering if diamond PC magnas would be more authentic. I'd love to post pics but I'm not near the camera right now.

I'm assuming that it's a Model 10. I do not see any model markings on it but it looks just like Model 10 postings I've seen.

All thoughts welcome!

M&P Airweights (later to become the Model 12) had frames that were thinner than their steel framed counterparts. For that reason, grips aren't interchangable between the two. You're probably correct regarding the PC style magnas, but you'll need a set specifically for an Airweight.

Iknow I have a set for an Airweight, but I'm almost certain they're for a round butt... :(

Wow, that's something else I forgot to mention. There is a slight gap between the top of each grip panel and the frame. Your explanation sure clears that up. And yes, it is a square butt.

Great forum!
