I recently bought a set of used "K-frame" grips for my 1979 Model 10. They don't seem to fit very well. The wood is "hanging over" the metal at the top and on the forward side of the grip. Is it possible that these are actually N-frame grips?

They look like N frame grips to me. I am not 100% sure, somebody else will be along shortly to confirm. They are in pretty decent shape and look good though. May be just the reason to buy another gun, maybe a 28.

If you actually want correct stocks for your nice nickle Model 10, you need to find the PC variety with the rounded bottom.

Here are a couple pictures:

I'm sure you can find some on eBay.

Don't forget to check the accessories for sale on this forum. I just got this pair for my Model 10-4 on this forum.

"Plain clothes" is a nickname. The factory referred to them as "modified Magna" stocks. But to most of us, they are simply PC (and it does not mean "politically correct!") :D
