Hey all, looking at possibly buying a 13-1. Can someone date serial #5669180? I've been looking for a .357 from 1974-75. I really wanted a highway patrolman, but they are out of my price range. Also did the 13-1 have recessed cylinders? Thanks in advance.

That doesn't sound like a valid serial number. Look on the bottom of the grip frame.

I have a 13-1, with SN,D910XXX, shipped in 1976. Some of these revolvers in this model were made for the NYS Police, and agency I retired from.

Is it a three inch? If so you might want to acquire it if it checks out OK.

I need to have my eyes checked!! Here we go. Its either D669180 or S669180. Gun is a 4" square butt. Also were these recessed cylinders?

The SCSW shows S/N D659902 - D750000 for 1974 - 1975.
My 13-1, S/N 2D86361 (1978) has recessed cylinder bores.

The recessed cylinder was eliminated with the -3 in 1982.

That is what I was hoping for. Thanks for the responses. I've been on the search for a pinned and recessed .357 from 74-75 for a while.
