A local shop has a 13-2 nickel in really nice shape. Non original grips and no box. Apprears to have been fired very little. Very slight drag line. Any idea on the proper value for this?? Thanks

I don't know if this will help you or not. A year ago (or so) I sold my 13-2, 4" blue. I had bought it with less than a box through it. Beautiful shape. Original stocks on it. No box or papers. Sold it for $550 on a gun classified ad. Very little response to the ad. Buyer wanted it badly, and did not try to go down on the price. Bob

Nickel generally sells for more, but I know I wouldn’t want a nickel gun. I’d be too paranoid I’d screw up the finish. If I want shiny I’d buy a stainless and polish it.
But it’s a K frame P&R .357, so I’d have to think 600, at least. I sold a beautiful 19-2 in like 99% shape a few years ago. I regret selling it, but I got $750 for it. No box or docs.

There are fans of Nickle'd guns out there; for me a Nickle 13....... would fall behind a similar blue 13 or stainless 65.

I paid $500 for my 13-2 back in 2016. It has over 1500 rds through it.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that is is a 4 inch. Very little handling wear. I am not a big fan of nickel, but I happened across it. I am really looking for a correct collectible 19-2 or-3, 4" bbl, or possibly 2 1/2" with a target hammer and target trigger

An excellent condition 3" P&R 13-2 without the original box,papers and cleaning kit should fetch about $750.Some late production 13-2 might only have a recessed cylinder and not have a pinned barrel or pinned barrel and not recessed cylinder but FWIW the factory ran out of the 13-2 pinned barrels before the recessed cylinders.
Many 13-2 I have seen have grips numbered to the gun on the inside of the right panel.The numbers might be only 4 digits.
Longer barrels $200-$300 less.

My blue 3" 13-2, SN# 8D33xxx is both recessed and P&R and has matching numbered stocks, as well as matching box and papers/tools. I added the correct Tyler T grip. Although it was shot and carried in its time, I would still rate it at VG+.
I would not part with it for less than $850, IF I was going to sell it...

You can ask and value your property as you see fit but at too high a price it might take a good while longer to find a buyer.
I very recently sold an excellent condition,gun only, 3" 13-2 for $750.
I don't get emotionally attached to my firearms.Everything I have is always available at very fair prices.There's only 1 of 12 revolvers in my safe that was there a year ago.

Really? You don’t have your duty guns from the job anymore? Were you actually in the Stakeout Unit with Cerillo? I gotta think your guns have seen some real use if you were.
My Uncle was on the job for like 35 years. Just did patrol and task force, so he stayed in the bag the whole time. When he retired, his son (my cousin) was having drug problems so he gave me his Model 10. I know he fired that in the street more than once, killing one guy for sure. I had the gun for a few years. Just sat in the safe. I saw him at a family event and he casually asked if I still had it. I said yeah. He said “that’s a good gun, for sure”. My cousin had cleaned up and moved out. He dropped the topic and we moved on.
Next morning, I shipped to to an Ffl near him. Called him and told him to go get his gun. He was so happy.

A few months ago I paid $799 for a like new 13-3. Not pinned or recessed. Almost no turn line. No no box or papers. 3” K frames fetch high prices around here. They are about as common as unicorns.
