I have this pristine Model 14-3 that is Single Action Only. Serial number 8K855xx.

I suspect that the 8 before the K in the serial number is a factory designation for the Single Action Only feature. I'm also guessing the SA inked on the box is the same.

The pictures arn't great but should help.

This seems a pretty rare bird. Tell me what you can.

My factory single action 14-3 has either SA or S/A written in red on the end of the box. Cannot see your box and the writing well enough to guess.
The 8 in front of the K is just the number of model 14s as they were serial numbered....so to speak. It has nothing to do with its' being single action and more to do with when it was made.

Many guns were made SA from standard guns after leaving the factory and are not rare at all. Wouldn't call a dash three SA rare, but far less left the factory than the standard SA/DA 14-3s.

:) My 14-3 came from the factory with target trigger target hammer and target grips plus single action. At least I think it came from the factory that way as I bought it new. Don
