I just saw a model 14 no dash 8 3/8" in about 90% condition. Double action, asking $575. Is this price reasonable?

You're sure it is a M14 and not M17? And, weren't they 38s (K-38)? 8 3/8 barrels were the exception for M14s. Could make it retain a slight premium if they are original. The 6" barrel models are listed for $450 in VG condition. It is probably priced right with the original grips, box, tools and papers.

Who knows? Prices for any of these darn things are all over the place. Two months ago, I bought a 14-3 for $430.00. I still think that it was a good price, even though I've seen similar guns since then a lot cheaper. Basically, you can have a lot more fun with a 14 no dash 8 3/8" than anything else that $575.00 will get you. Except maybe...well..you know..

yeah, a k38. scsw says 1959. diamond grips,no box or tools. The problem is that I have 2 15s but no 14 and i want it especially with that barrel length. Say good-bye to more money.....................

You talked me into it. Thanks for the help guys. I'm on my way. Show pictures soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my part of the world that's a fair price, from what I see at the gun shows.
I have one with the 8 3/8" its a tack driver with wad cutters or SWC's.

A couple months back I bought an 8-3/8 14-4 in 98% condition, with box paper and tools for $599 and was tickled to find it. I had been looking for quite some time and this was the best buy by far! The 8 3/8's versions are a lot harder to come by than the 6".

It's home now where it belongs. When I'm done making amends with my financial adviser (wife) I'll clean it up and post pictures. Can't wait to try some wad cutters in it. Happy days.
