Hi:
A number of my handguns found their way from Florida to Tennessee.
Unpacking and routine maintance I discovered that a Model 15-2 4"
#K515627 target hammer spur is bent downward enough to dis-allow single action.
New to the area (Vonore) I do not know of a Gunsmith.
Is this something I can correct by disassembling the revolver, and taking
the hammer and tapping the hammer spur upward enough to allow single action?
Thanks,
Jimmy

Yes, an easy fix. And, if you can't straighten it, you can install a replacement hammer.

Maybe. Depending on how much the hammer spur is bent. Due to the case-hardening it is common for the spur to crack when straightening. This will usually be shallow and not affect function, unless the bend is severe and then there is a chance the spur will break off completely. Either way you haven't lost anything as the hammer will need to be replaced if you want a spur.
