Model 15-2 Date of Manufacture

Could any of you well informed Smith and Wesson aficionados tell me the date of manufacture for my 15-2, serial number k66268? Thank you in advance.

You are missing a digit in the serial#. If your's is K6XXXXX it dates to about 1966 and would be a Model 15-2. The serial# you posted with 5 digits is too early to be model marked (1948). Hope this helps.

Sorry, it is k666268, in fact the sales clerk joked that I am purchasing the devil's gun due to the first three digits.
