hello ladies or gentelman,
New to revolvers, just picked this up was told a model 15-2
kinda standard issue for officers i was told. that is what i was looking for these are the numbers stamped on the revolver
on the butt # k489085 at the yoke area #75786 i hope the seller was giving it to me straight he said approx date of manufac 1961, grips good, bore seems good, trigger seems smooth (but a little heavy (i'm used to auto's) a little blueing wear , probably from holster no major scratches paid 300.00 was that fair ??? any help would be appreciated

1961 it is, well 1961'ish. You'll find that out with Smith's.

Welcome aboard! And we always love pictures. Don't have any 15's myself to guide you on price.

still learning as i go, hope to shoot her this weekend , hope i did not make a mistake. I figured a officers model was a good choice not to large a cal (38) long enough barrel for some accuracy and adj sights for some getting old eyes thanks for the info on manufac date is this indeed a model 15 ?? will try to upload photo (remember i'm a newbie)

Welcome to the forum! You made no mistake buying that dash two for $300.00, thats well below what they are bringing around here. The 15 is one of the best platforms for the .38 special and I havent met one yet that was not a fine shooter "I have three 15's and one pre-15 Combat Masterpiece". If you can post a pic please do so and enjoy that 15.

thanks again for replies , next hurdle here is trying to upload photo's
not having any luck as a insert or attachment must be doing something wrong wish it were as simple as this new model 15

I think that you did excellent. You love the model 15 once you get to the range. Again, Pictures!!
