Model 15-4 2" Trip to the Range

Picked up a S&W Model 15-4 back in May. Today was the first chance to get to the range with it. Wow! It shoots as good as I recall from my Air Force days when I carried a Model 15-2. At 30 yards I could fire a group I could cover with one hand. At 20 feet, my son and I were shooting out the bulls eye. I'm sure glad I bought this gun!

They are the best shooting snubbie that I have ever shot. Mine is very accurate.

My 15-3 is simply amazing. I wish I had the ability to use mine to it's potential. I sandbagged mine this weekend to set the sights. After all was said and done, it held a 2" group. My best ability off the sandbag was about 6" @ 25 yds.

I purchased a 2" model 15-4 a few months back. I had been looking for one ever since a range buddy of mine bought one and began torturing me by waving it under my nose. I will second what the other posters have said. It is the most accurate snubbie I have ever fired. I have often said that it must think it's a 4"! As an added bonus, mine came with the original box and papers:

Great looking snubs with lots of class. My mini version model 34 is also very accurate and needs a big brother to keep him safe when locked up in the deep, dark safe.

I'm wanting one of these really bad and will buy the first one that passes my way, especially if it had box and papers!!

It was pointed out by SWCA guys that my memory of a M15 2" in the Air Force was really a M56, a specially made version for the Air Force. They are very rare as most were destroyed when we went to the M9. Too bad, but I'll be very happy with a good M15 if I can ever find it.

I have one of these and it goes to the range with me almost every trip.
It feels just a bit better to me than my M66 and M19 snubs.
It likes my 158 grain LSWC reloads, so is cheap to shoot.
Everyone who has shot it likes it.
Last time I had it at the range we were shooting eight inch steel plates at about 20 yards. I beat a lot of shooters with it.

I'm considering shooting iDPA with it this winter. That should be a blast.
