Hi Guys - I have purchased a Model 15, no dash. It is a 4" barrel, nickel plated gun. The serial number is K4310xx which leads me to a date of 1961; however, it is a four screw, which was supposedly gotten rid of in the 15 in 1961 with the 15-2. I'm confused as to why it is a no-dash but still has the screw and the serial number looks like a '61.

Thanks for any tips...you guys are the best

The change order authorizing the extractor rod with a left-hand thread was issued in December 1959 and the change order modifying the cylinder stop with the elimination of the cylinder stop plunger screw was issued in November 1961. However, these changes were not implemented for most models until 1962 with -1 and -2 model variations being shipping in 1962. Your revolver pre-dates the implementation of these changes, but is near the end of the Model 15 series. Collectors read about when a change is authorized, but fail to realize it may take months to years to implement the change across all models.
