Well- it's been awhile, but another 4" barreled S&Dubya was hunting me down. I recently fell victim to a deal in which I ended up getting a 16-4 .32 (H&R) Magnum that had climbed into my vehicle, it didn't bring it's box (claimed it was long gone)...but had it's tools & papers with it. It was a Virgin that had never been shot after leaving Springfield. There is a turnline, however. She was dressed in Finger Groove Combats that it's had since birth. It's name (serial#) is B EZ77XX.
I like the ol' P&R's in .357 & .44 mag- & this is not one I know a lot about. Does anyone know how many of these were made in the 4" flavor? Also, since it's unfired- I guess she can keep her job as a Monarch of the Vault. But might soon find her way to another Collector... Or just keep as an investment. What is the going rate on this Model, anyhow?

Oh, I saw a pair of them at the gunstore the other day (4" & 6") for $350 each.

What? No 8 3/8" ? I'll take 'm anyway. Seriously: I've seen them span about a $5oo Range... How much does the box add- and what year would the B EZ range....range? Or cover?
And that $350 ea. thing?...You're gonna hate me if I tell ya what I got Wrapped Up in this one... So maybe I shouldn't.

She's a Beautiful Thing, just trying not too get too personally involved...My big mags'd be jealous.

Good buy!! I paid between 700-800 for the 3 I have. one is a 4 inch, the others 6 inch. GB has an 8 3/8 listed. They are very accurate and minimal recoil. Get some ammo and shoot it!!! If you decide to sell I will buy it!!

I just picked up a 4" in pristine condition and will fire it today for the first time. It' got the original S&W fingergroove combat grips as well but I've put a pair of Spegel extended boot grips on it. They just seem to fit. The only ammo I could find locally was 4 boxes of Federal Match 32 Long. Well see just how accurate this puppy is.

P.W. P. , Posting without pictures! AAcK.

Fortunately I got ya covered.

Shoot it if you can ,if you don't it's your loss. They are a kick in the pants, all snap and no recoil.

Thanks Guys- & Allen Frame: That's It! That's the One! Pretty li'l thing, huh?
Now for a stoopid question....Since the .32 H&R Mag is basically just a shorter "327" mag... the cartridge chambered for the new S&W new 632...Can one safely (& semi-sanely) ream out the 16-4's cylinder to accomodate this longer & more powerful round? I am aware the pressure would be about double, and the collector value may be about about half. But if the Cylinder is long enough-& meaty enough... it'd make a great little gun just one more round more useful. I am thinking more of a target/small game hunting gun that for some reason I have yet to see in .327 mag. Seems all the manufacturers can make are 'People Poppers'!
Not sayin' this is the greatest idea, but if it IS possible...it might not be THAT goofy. I see Taurus, too, has a snubby version of the .327 Magnum out... but to me, the 16-4 would make a perfect platform for an all around '.357 Junior'. No infernal lock, sexxxy looks, and geared up for the 'latest' in ammo.
What say you Smith Smiths? Is it even possible to do the surgery?

I saw in the American handgunner 2009 annual has an article in it that answers your question. Hamilton Bowen is making 327 K frame revolvers. The article states he is using 66 frame and 617 barrel and cylinder for the conversion. Contact them and I am sure he can make a 327 cylinder for you 16-4. I am in Iraq and it is a little harder for me to accomplish anything.
