Local gunshop has a mint-possibly unfired 17-3. No box or papers but it is perfect-Asking 525.00 I am thinking of putting it lay-a-way or buying it. Already have a pair of K-22's but the problem is I have 2 sons and need to purchase things in groups of 3.

Ok I just want another model 17 and don't have a 17-3.

In the "People's Republic...

... of California," that would be a great price for a mint 17-3. One does not see all that many model 17s and they tend to be snapped up as soon as they hit the shelves.

I would grab it and ask questions later.

One cannot have too many .22's; that sounds like a decent price.

I should add that a 6" 17-3 was my first handgun, I guess I got it when I was twelve or so, around 1978 or 1979. I've still got it.

I have an opprtunity to buy a 1975 17-3 in 85-90% condition with original box and papers. The seller is a friend and I am not sure that he knows what he wants for the gun. I would like to make him an offer and want to be fair and reasonable. Above all, I do not want to low-ball him.

I was thinking range is probably $450 to $550.

Any feedback?
