Have a chance to buy a 17-3 6" looks almost new serial # 6K47xxx would one of you knowing fellows please tell me if it is worth $600 and what year it was born , does not have target hammer or trigger or combat grips? I'm not sure what to call the grips but you can read the serial number on the butt with the grips on. Thanks for any help.

I bought a model 17-3 a few years ago, low serial no. Had target hammer and trigger and Ugly grips. Had some leaf springs problems ,replace that. Turned out to be a SUPER shooter.
Paid $500.00 in 2011, best buy I have ever made, Super shooter, on the mark. You can't go wrong with the 17-3.

Looks like a 1974 date. Sounds like a good deal; I've paid more for less.

My 17-3 is from around the same time period and it's a fine shooter and a nicely finished gun.

$600 is not a steal but for what you're getting it's a very fair price.

I have a 17-3. Even if you pay $100 too much, it will even out in a few years. I guess they are hard to find.
It is my favorite range fun.

That is a very good deal price wise for a 17-3 in the condition you stated it's in and I would buy it as they are great shooters.
