First off hello everyone, just joined today. I have been a life long lover of Smith and Wesson, so it pains me to do this. I am thinking of selling my Model 17-6 4" full under lug. I have the original box and all original papers and forms that came with it, purchased in an auction. It is in very good shape (like new) and has only had roughly 150 rounds through it. Does anyone know what the value might be on the market today? Thanks...

I bought one about a year ago.

It was in like new condition. No box, no papers, six inch.
Five and a half bills. I figure that I got a decent but not great deal on it. Today prices for pre-lock guns in clean condition are all over the place. Additionally your area and availablity can make a difference. Good luck.:)

That sounds about right. I sold one ANIB here, also about a year ago,for $650. Should have asked more since it sold in nuthin' flat.
f.t.

I just paid $590 for the one pictured in the 17-6 range report thread. If you can hold on to it I would. They didn't make too many of these in the grand scheme of things. Good luck

I picked up a LNIB one with TH & TT for $600. If you have the slightest hesitation about selling it, I would sure encourage you to hang on to it. They are such a great revolver, and not all that many of them around.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I am in the process of getting photos up but with my work schedule it makes it kind of difficult. Hopefully soon though. I recently changed the description as I have found the paperwork and new information came to light.

Well I did it, but at least it went to a family member. They saw the thread and called me today asking if they could purchase it. Thanks to everyone for the great words and to those interested.
